Richard Crenian, ReDev Properties Ltd. president, helped support Baycrest Health Services in the pro-am hockey tournament fundraiser, raising nearly $60,000 for Alzheimer’s support.

Crenian, who was runner-up for the individual with the most funds raised, was a member of The Coop Architects team that together raised $113,000 in donations during the event.

Crenian said his passion for the game along with his ambition to support Alzheimer research drives his participation in the tournament.

“I am a big fan of hockey,” Crenian said in a press release. “But I am also passionate about using a sport to bring the community together to support an important cause, such as funding for Alzheimer’s research. That’s a big reason why I continuously support this tournament.”

In addition to participating in the tournament for Baycrest, Crenian also set-up a “Match My Gift” campaign in 2015, in which donations to Baycrest would be doubled with Crenian’s support.

“The more I learned about Baycrest, the more impressed I became with the organization and the donor community,” Crenian said. “I wanted to honour these donors by matching their generosity and increasing our impact for the cause together.”
