EllisDon Corporation issued the following announcement on March 8.

EllisDon Civil is pleased to announce that EllisDon Transit Infrastructure (EDTI) has achieved financial close and been awarded the contract to design, build, and finance Metrolinx’s and Infrastructure Ontario’s Regional Express Rail – Stouffville Stations expansion project.

“EllisDon Civil is very excited to be delivering this important RER infrastructure,” Said Max Mantha, Vice President and Area Manager for EllisDon Civil. “I’m very proud of our team and the hard work of all those involved.”

The EDTI team, in collaboration with WSP, brings together expertise in large infrastructure design, construction and financing.

Team members have extensive experience working on complex, multi-disciplinary, high profile projects, and have been involved in previous phases of the Regional Express Rail (RER) initiative; which aims to transform the GO rail network into a system that will bring rapid, two-way, all-day GO service to communities across the region over the next decade.

The scope of work on the RER Stouffville Stations project will involve the expansion of the Unionville, Milliken, and Agincourt GO stations in order to accommodate a second track and platform, as well as a grade separation at Steeles Avenue with a rail bridge and pedestrian bridges to the west and east.

Construction is expected to begin in September 2018 and is slated for completion in late 2020.

For more information about the project, and the greater Regional Express Rail program can be found at metrolinx.com or infrastructureontario.ca.
