BASF SE recently announced that it will increase its European selling prices, effective immediately or as existing contracts permit, for certain products.
1,4-Butanediol (BDO) will be increased by 200 EUR/mt. Tetrahydrofuran (THF) will be increased by 150 EUR/mt. Polytetramethylene ether glycol (PolyTHF) will be increased by 300 EUR/mt. N-Methyl-2-Pyrrolidone (NMP) will be increased by 150 EUR/mt. Gamma Butyrolactone (GBL) will be increased by 150 EUR/mt.
According to the company, BDO and its derivatives are used in the production of engineering plastics, polyurethanes, solvents and elastic spandex fibers.
