Association of Management, Administrative and Professional Crown Employees of Ontario issued the following announcement on Dec. 2.
The Ontario Public Service (OPS) Employer has engaged two third-party vendors to complete a comprehensive review of inclusive workplace policies and programs, including the Respectful Workplaces Policy, the Workplace Discrimination and Harassment Prevention Program, and the Policy on Preventing Barriers in Employment. INDsight Consulting is leading a general review, while Employment Matters Consulting is focused on anti-Black racism in the OPS.
AMAPCEO has been actively engaged with this review. On November 20, AMAPCEO provided the vendors our recommendations regarding changes to the Employer’s policies that would enable the OPS to more effectively address systemic discrimination and harassment. These submissions were informed by consultation sessions with each vendor, as well as the AMAPCEO Equity Committee. We are grateful to the members of the Committee who shared their time, experiences, and insight on diversity and inclusion in the OPS.
This week, the third party reviewers have distributed a survey to all employees regarding your views and experiences with diversity and inclusion within the OPS. This survey is anonymous, voluntary, and will take between 20 and 25 minutes to complete. AMAPCEO has reviewed the survey questions, and we encourage all OPS members to take the time to provide your feedback to the vendors on these crucial issues.
AMAPCEO will be following the review process and will provide updates on any recommendations and policy revisions arising out of it.
