The Bayers Lake Community Outpatient Centre involves new construction of a 134,000 sq.ft. outpatient facility and associated site works located on a 15-acre site in the Bayers Lake Business Park located in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
The new Community Outpatient Centre will include: space for primary care services to be delivered by a healthcare team such as doctors, nurses and other health professionals, clinics such as physio and occupational therapy, high blood pressure, diabetes and orthopedic assessment, 17 examination rooms, 24 dialysis stations, diagnostic imaging (x-rays and ultrasounds), blood collection, post-surgery or post-treatment follow-up appointments.
"We are more than excited to get started on this very important project for healthcare redevelopment in Nova Scotia. This is a very important project not only for the community, but for the entire province," said Shaun Stiles, Vice-President and Area Manager for Atlantic Canada.
The project is the first P3 healthcare project in Nova Scotia and one element of the broader QEII New Generation Project, a large-scale, phased, multi-year program that will redesign and build healthcare infrastructure in the Halifax Regional Municipality.
