Seneca College issued the following announcement on June 28.
Hayley is graduating from the.Social Service Worker (SSW) diploma program.
After graduating from Carleton University with a journalism degree, Hayley’s passion for working with women to overcome societal barriers led her to Seneca’s SSW program. During her time at Seneca, Hayley established a non-profit organization called the Red Dot Project with three other students and one of her professors. Red Dot Project assembles and distributes menstrual supply kits and other personal care products monthly to people experiencing homelessness in Toronto. Hayley is currently working as a relief residential caseworker at a women’s shelter in Newmarket and is considering heading back to school to pursue a master of social work in the future.
The Governor General’s Academic Award is given to a student who achieves the highest academic standing in her or his final year of a full-time postsecondary diploma program.
