Seneca College recently issued the following announcement.
Grades available on Student Centre May 3; counselling support ongoing
The release of final grades for the winter term has been moved from April 28 to May 3, 2018 to support the Seneca community in dealing with the horrific Toronto van attack that occurred on Yonge Street earlier this week. The revised date will give students and faculty affected by this attack additional time to complete final assessments and grading for the semester as needed.
At a time when we would naturally come together for support, our community is going separate ways for the end of term. We want to remind all students that if you want to talk to someone about this week’s tragic events, you are encouraged to reach out to professionals at Seneca Counselling and Accessibility Services. These services are available to you even if you have just completed your studies.
It is very common to have either delayed or denied responses to trauma by weeks, months or even years. Everyone has a right to be affected in their own way. Please know that it is not essential that everyone talks right now. But it is essential that everyone feels supported when they are ready to talk.
For support, please visit a counselling officeat Seneca all year round. You can also receive confidential support at any time at good2talk.ca or by calling 1-866-925-5454.
