Seneca College recenly issued the following announcement.

The School of Marketing’s Make it Happen leadership forum brought industry leaders to Markham Campus on Tuesday, April 3. Hundreds of students filled the cafeteria to hear from the likes of Alan Horn, president and CEO of Rogers Telecommunications Ltd. and Mark Ditmars, vice president, corporate partnerships of the Toronto Blue Jays.

“It’s about connecting students with marketing achievers, industry legends and hearing from them personally on what it takes to ‘make it happen,’ and succeed with their career passions,” says Professor Nancy Bodi, one of the event organizers.
With graduation a few weeks away for Marketing students, Make It Happen was created to help students prepare fpr their careers and network with industry leaders.
“I had a good twenty minutes where I had a lineup of students coming up to ask questions,” says guest speaker Matt McCoubrey, senior vice president of Creative at Mosaic North America. “I was impressed by the number of the questions”.
Event Marketing – Sports, Entertainment, Arts (EVM) students played a significant role in planning the event, and the final panel of the day featured recent Seneca graduates who landed jobs in their field at Edelman, Grip Ltd., Managing Matters Inc. and SickKids Foundation.
“I have learned a great deal from this energetic and truly incredible experience,” said EVM student Will DiFrancesco who was also one of two event emcees. “It was a real team effort … none of this would have been possible without hard work from our entire program.”
