The Toronto Region Board of Trade is seeking nominees for its annual Business Excellence Awards, which highlight small to midsize businesses and individuals who have shown growth, leadership and achievement.

Nominations for the awards are open through Sept. 18. Winners will be honoured Nov. 8 at the Business Excellence Awards Gala, according to a news announcement.

“These awards recognize the vital role SMEs play in making the Toronto region Canada’s global champion,” Jan De Silva, Toronto Region Board of Trade president and CEO, said in the announcement. “By successfully growing a business from the ground up, these role models create opportunities for Canadians and giving back to their communities.”

Award categories include Community Influencer, Talent Catalyst, Global Trade Catalyst, Transportation Catalyst, Smart Solutions Provider, Entrepreneur of the Year, Young Professional of the Year and Business Leader of the Year. The Business Leader of the Year winner will deliver the keynote address at the awards gala.
