Real estate experts predict the Durham region could have 810,000 residents by 2021 thanks to its location and affordability.
In a recent post for Zoocasa, personal finance blogger Jordann Brown said a vast majority of areas in the Durham Region not only offer a variety of employment opportunities from many industries, but also a diverse range of communities, which makes the area attractive to buyers.
“You’ll find a vast variety of neighbourhoods to choose from in the Durham Region, from small towns to bustling urban centers full of employment in a variety of industries, and everything in between,” Brown wrote.
The following neighbourhoods are considered the best to buy a home in the Durham Region: Riverside Hermitage (Ajax); Vanier (Oshawa); Taunton North, Whitby; and Brooklin, Whitby.
Out of the top four neighbourhoods, Riverside is known as one of the most affluent in the Ajax community. Oshawa, known as one of the most popular communities outside of Toronto, boasts the Vanier neighbourhood, with easy access to shopping and amenities. In Whitby, buyers can find plenty of new construction in Taunton, while Brooklin offers a downtown feel, the article notes.
