The Mississauga Rotary’s annual Ribfest is slated for next month and will feature a dozen vendors with barbecue ribs, chicken and other foods and live entertainment.
The four-day event, whose gold sponsor is the Mississauga Board of Trade, will kick off July 13 in Mississauga Celebration Square with food, a performance from the local band From Far and Wide and a “Singfest” amateur singing talent competition.
Ribfest will start at 11:30 a.m., with the official opening of the event at noon. Networking and entertainment will began at 12:10 p.m., with prize and raffle drawings at 12:40 p.m.
This year’s “ribbers” participating in the event include Camp 31 Real Southern Bar-B-Que, Sticky Fingers BBQ, Uncle Sams BBQ Stand, BIBB’s Texas BBQ, Hawgs Gone Wild BBQ Team, Gator BBQ, Billy Bones BBQ, Bone Daddy’s Real Pit BBQ, Crabby’s BBQ Shack, Silver Bullet Bar-B-Q’s, Blazin BBQ and Pistol Pete’s.
The event, now in its 14th year, has helped the Mississauga and Mississauga West Rotary Clubs to donate over $95,000 to charities. The clubs are among the 34,000 Rotary Clubs in over 200 countries.
