The city of Toronto will host public meetings over the next several weeks to update its Multi-Year Accessibility Plan, which focuses on the needs of those with disabilities.
The four public consultation meetings will get input from the public and help outline its policies for meeting the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act guidelines, according to an announcement.
In its announcement, the city said the purpose of the public meetings is to understand the barriers that those with disabilities must face and to gather input on how to best remove those hurdles for the disabled. The city is asking for ideas and experiences from the public regarding attitudinal, systemic, communication, technology and any physical barriers in public spaces and public facilities.
The public consultation meetings will be held from 6-8 p.m. at the following locations:
Metro Hall, 55 St. John Street on June 12; Scarborough Civic Center, 150 Borough Drive on June 14; Etobicoke Civic Centre, 399 The West Mall on June 22; and at the North York Civic Centre, 5100 Yonge Street on June 28.
