La Boutique Noire, a clothing boutique in the Yorkville district, will host a special fundraising event to raise awareness and funds for Healthy Minds Canada.

The event, which will be held from 6-10 p.m. June 15 at La Boutique Noire, 90 Yorkville in Toronto, will feature the French cuisine of Chef Doug Penfold with a four-course menu and wine pairings. 

Penfold is well-known in the culinary and restaurant industry for his work in small bistros to large, corporate environments, according to a press release. He has worked in restaurants such as Canoe, Avalon and Pastis. He owns and operates Cava, a modern Spanish restaurant.

All of the funds raised from the La Boutique Noire event will be donated to Healthy Minds Canada, a national charity dedicated to working with those with mental health issues and addiction. The organization raises funds to use for mental illness and addiction research and has helped to fund 400 research projects in universities and teaching hospitals across the country, according to the charity's website.

Healthy Minds Canada offers workshops and conferences which help to bring mental health recovery to the forefront. In addition, the organization supports and educates young people with activity-based programs such as Yoga and Mindfulness.
