Doors Open Toronto will kick off a weekend of events with the question "What is Canadian Architecture" at 7 p.m. today.
The OpenInsights Speaker Series keynote panel of internationally known architects, including A.J. Diamond, Omar Gandhi, Valerie Gow, Murray Legge, Susan Scott and Pierre Thibault will try to answer the question, according to a press release. The 18th annual event will be held at East Harbour, 21 Don Roadway in Toronto. Parking is free.
In addition to the panel discussion, the public and media will be able to explore East Harbour. The former Lever Brothers factory has not been open to the public since 2009.
Doors Open Toronto continues Saturday and Sunday with free access to 150 historically and culturally significant buildings across Toronto. The event is part of the city's yearlong program marking Canada's 150th birthday, TO Canada With Love. It is produced by the city of Toronto.
