Findings from a report by the Canadian Centre for Economic Analysis (CANCEA), which delves into the issue of the greater Toronto and Hamilton area’s housing crunch, will be presented this week.
As the area’s housing crunch becomes a major concern for residents and businesses, CANCEA will host a presentation to discuss the recent finding of its report on Tuesday in Toronto. The presentation of the CANCEA’s report will be led by CANCEA team member Paul Smetanin, who will share the data and research from the housing report, according to a press announcement.
The event will also feature a panel discussion with some of Toronto’s leading authorities on the housing market. Panel members include Ana Bailao, city councillor and chair of Toronto’s Affordable Housing Committee; Jan De Silva, president and CEO of Toronto’s Region Board of Trade; Jim Murphy, president and CEO of the Federation of Rental-Housing Providers of Ontario; Diana Petramala, economist, Real Estate, TD Economics; and Sean Speer, a Munk Senior Fellow with the Macdonald-Laurier Institute.
There will also be a panel discussion featuring Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area mayors include Mississauga Mayor Bonnie Crombie, Brampton Mayor Linda Jeffrey, Barrie Mayor Jeff Lehman and Ajax Mayor Steve Parish.
The presentation will be held from 8 am.-2 p.m. at the Ryerson University Sears Atrium in Toronto.
