Re/Max has recently introduced a new online tool designed to map residential properties to school catchment areas throughout Canada, helping potential homebuyers access information on neighborhood schools.
Re/Max announced the new online tool as it released data from a study done by Leger, which showed 84 percent of Canadian parents want information on school catchment areas when looking to buy a house. The study showed that millennials with children had the highest number, with 87 per cent wanting accessible information on schools during their property search.
“We know there are many factors that influence the decision to purchase a particular home, from proximity to work, to overall cost, neighbourhood culture and access to green space,” Re/Max INTEGRA Ontario-Atlantic Canada Regional Director Christopher Alexander said in a press release. “The Re/Max/Leger study makes it clear that access to quality education is a critical factor in the residential home decision-making process for Canadians, especially for millennials and their growing families,” Alexander said.
Re/Max is the first real estate company in Canada to offer the online tool that maps residential properties to school catchment areas throughout Canada. The tool allows potential homebuyers to view a map of schools, select a certain school and view homes within that particular school’s catchment area.
“We’re excited about the Re/Max school mapping tool because it puts homebuyers in the driver’s seat whether they are reviewing school options for a particular street address, or looking for available properties in a specific school catchment area,” Re/Max of Western Canada’s Regional Executive Vice President Elton Ash said.
