Nordstrom Inc. is expected to hire 400 people for its new CF Sherway Gardens store in Toronto, which is slated to open Sept. 15.
The Sherway store is the company’s sixth Canadian store to open since Nordstrom’s 2014 expansion into Canada. The store will be hiring sales positions in all areas, including shoes, accessories, beauty and women’s, men’s and children’s apparel. Positions in the areas of alternations, building services, housekeeping, loss prevention and the restaurant and coffee bar area are also being filled.
The new store will be headed by Jennifer Gross, who recently served as store manager for Nordstrom’s Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, store.
“We’ve enjoyed getting to know customers at Toronto Eaton Centre and Yorkdale Shopping Centre and are excited to open at Sherway Gardens to more conveniently serve Torontonians in the West End,” Gross said in a company announcement.
Gross said as she builds her team at the new Sherway store, she is seeking those who “love fashion and taking care of customers.”
Gross began working at Nordstrom 11 years ago when she served as an intern in Hurst, Texas. While in Hurst, she was promoted three times and then took the position of personal stylist manager at Nordstrom’s Dallas Galleria store in Texas.
Nordstrom said in 2018, it plans to open six Nordstrom Rack stores in Canada in Vaughan Mills, One Bloor in Toronto, Deerfoot Meadows in Calgary, South Edmonton Common, The Ottawa Train Yards and Heartfeld Town Centre in Mississauga.
