Ken Yoon will be Acerus Pharmaceuticals Corp.'s new chief financial officer beginning next month.
Yoon, who most recently served as Vive Crop Protection Inc.’s chief financial officer, will assume his new position at Acerus on June 1.
Acerus President and CEO Tom Rossi said Yoon’s experience and skills align with the company’s future growth plans.
“The board of directors and I are delighted to welcome Ken at this important juncture in the development of our company,” Rossi said in an announcement. “He brings considerable financial acumen, transitional experience and strategic skills to the table which will be important assets as we move forward with our growth plans.”
During his tenure at Acerus, Yoon has negotiated product license, development and IP agreements with global crop companies. He was also credited with raising over $35 million to fund operations.
Yoon’s experience also includes working with VG Private Equity Partners, where he was the company’s senior associate for Investments-Advanced Life Sciences Fund. He also worked at Ernst & Young where he led the Life Sciences sector.
Yoon, who was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2012, received a Bachelor of Science from the University of Western Ontario, a Bachelor of Laws from Queens University and holds an MBA from the University of Toronto.
